Pick & place case packers for RSC boxes

Unmissable event of the end of the year, ALL4PACK Emballage, that will be held in Paris from 21st to 24th November 2022, is the showcase of future trends that provides the industry insiders with modern and efficient solutions to face the latest trends in the packaging sector.

Depletion of non-renewable resources, limited recyclability, greenhouse gas emissions... Packaging is currently facing several challenges and has to reinvent itself.
 

SMI, as an exhibitor, becomes an active player of this change thanks to innovative and sustainable solutions and, at the booth F043 Hall 4, will showcase the ACP 20 S ERGON case packer for packing glass beer bottles in RSC cardboard cases in 3x4 format, with sealing through adhesive tape, at the production speed of 20 packs/minute.
 

The cardboard case is a plastic-free packaging solution, it is sustainable, recyclable and reusable.
 

The automatic case packers with pick & place system from the ACP ERGON range are a valid alternative to the traditional packaging in wrap-around cardboard cases to have a packaging that is simple, efficient and suitable for maximizing the visibility of the packs on the shelves at the retail points thanks to the possibility of graphic customization.

Easy management and advanced automation

The cardboard magazine, located next to the machine, allows to load the pre-folded blanks in an easy and ergonomic way.

The ACP ERGON case packers are equipped with MotorNet System® automation and control technology based on Sercos fieldbus, which ensures that the plant fully complies with Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT) principles.

Versatility of use and product protection

The ACP series packs several types of products, such as glass bottles and jars, pasta, rice and coffee bags and boxes, oval containers (shampoo, liquid soaps, detergents) and briks (tea, juice), simply changing the picking gripper/suction cup. The extreme versatility allows to pack also stacked products inside boxes.

Thanks to the pick & place system, it is possible to pack also very delicate and exclusive products such as wines, sparkling wines and liqueurs, without damaging the labels of the glass bottles. Moreover, the manufactured boxes are very robust and resistant (high top load).

Structural compactness and ergonomics

ACP case packers are characterized by a monobloc structure in which all the machine functions are grouped: product separation, product insertion with loose product top loading, cardboard magazine, case sealing.

The packaging process is alternate (stop & go) and is based on a pick & place system in order to make RSC packs at the maximum speed of 20 packs/minute. The models are available in the version with box sealing by means of adhesive tape (ACP S) or hot glue (ACP G).
