The forthcoming international event of "Emballage 2008" is the ideal occasion to review 2008's results and talk about future projects. Also this year SMI will register a significant turnover increase, consolidating its presence in the world with 3,800 secondary packaging machines and 230 rotary stretch-blow molders.
At Emballage 2008 SMI will be exhibiting a wrap-around case packer model WP 450, equipped with the PID device (Partition Inserting Device), that allows to insert stretched board pre-assembled partitions among the bottles.
A system that protects fragile products (such as glass containers) and saves their labels from abrasions.
Compared with the traditional systems to insert non-preassembled partitions, the PID SBP® allows to:
- reduce the partitions purchasing cost and their storage volume;
- mantain unchanged the machine layout, since both the partition magazine and the Partition Inserting Device are mounted on the top of the machine;
- speed up the partition insertion operation and the loading times of the relevant magazine, since partitions are already pre-assembled;
- reduce the sensitivity of partitions to humidity and climate changes.
Furthermore, all SMI case packers with wrap-around system ensure many advantages, such as:
- high flexibility
- no impact between the cardboard blank and the product
- higher outputs
- more stability of the package, with great advantages for the logistics
- high eye-catching effect for the product marketing
